Packers roll out sweet homecoming jerseys on Sunday

It’s time to step back in time for the Green Bay Packers, who will celebrate their 50s style with all-green uniforms when they play against the Washington football team.

The Green Bay Packers already own some of the most classic uniforms in the NFL. They’re stepping out of the old-fashioned green for Sunday’s game with the Washington football team.

This week, the team announced their “50s Classic” uniforms, inspired by their sons from 1950-1953.

The team posted a hype video for the United while also modifying their Twitter profile picture for Flashback Week.

Packers’ uniforms pay homage to the 1950s

These uniforms were themselves flashbacks. They recalled the first time Green Bay wore green and gold in the 1930s.

The modern interpretation includes green jerseys and pants with gold accents, including gold numbers and stripes across the shoulders. Everything is topped with a solid gold helmet.

The Packers have donned dubious-looking homecoming uniforms in the past. These are simple and crisp, honoring the past while avoiding horror status in the present. Top marks all around on the design.

Offensive lineman David Bakhtiari, who could be set to return to left tackle following an ACL injury, seemed to like the new look.

Wearing flashbacks can be great, but winning them back is the most important part. Green Bay recovered beautifully from their beating at the hands of the Saints to open the season, winning their last five games.

They come out of road wins over the Bengals and Bears and return to Lambeau Field with an eye on maintaining momentum.
